AKCES NCBR, with the support of the National Contact Point (NCP at NCBR) at the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR), has launched the HPN DeepTech programme with the EIC Launchpad track – a dedicated initiative for deep‑tech startups aiming to develop their technologies in line with the best European standards and prepare for further stages of growth, including applying for support from the European Innovation Council (EIC).
For years, the NCP at NCBR has observed—while supporting Polish companies applying to European Innovation Council programmes, in particular the EIC Accelerator—that Poland does not lack innovative ideas or access to high‑potential technologies. However, too few projects successfully transition from research to market, reaching the level of maturity needed to attract investors and compete for the most prestigious European innovation funding instruments.
The experience of the NCP at NCBR shows that the key challenges today rarely lie in the technology itself. Much more often, the barrier is insufficient preparation of companies in the business, investment, and strategic dimensions, says Ola Ihnatowicz, Head of the Innovative Europe Team at the NCP in NCBR.
The HPN DeepTech initiative with the EIC Launchpad track is also the result of work carried out by the NCP within the CoDEPlugin project, whose objective is to analyse and develop effective support pathways for innovative companies and to strengthen the links between national programmes and the European innovation ecosystem. The conclusions drawn from these activities, combined with the practical experience of AKCES NCBR in supporting technology startups, have formed the basis for creating a new, dedicated programme.
The HPN DeepTech programme with the EIC Launchpad track focuses primarily on building the business and investment maturity of companies. It combines the expertise of NCP at NCBR in European programmes with the competencies of AKCES NCBR in startup acceleration and development. It is the result of close cooperation between both teams and a shared belief that Polish deep‑tech companies need not only funding, but above all a coherent development pathway – from technology to market.
If you are developing an innovative deep‑tech solution and are considering international expansion as well as participation in European Innovation Council programmes, we invite you to join the HPN DeepTech programme.
