The Security Research Event (SRE) will be held 24-25 June 2025 in Warsaw at EXPO XXI.

Join us and hundreds of security research stakeholders from across Europe to learn and share how innovation contributes to society’s resilience against radicalisation, crime, disasters, and crises.

During the conference, on top of our regular discussions on fighting crime and terrorism, border management and disaster resilience, we will also try to answer how to reinforce Europe’s strategic autonomy.

The SRE exhibition will illustrate the main themes of the event with more than 50 booths presenting selected security research projects funded under the Horizon Framework Programmes, the Internal Security Fund and the Border Management and Visa Instrument. Institutional booths showcasing activities of the European Commission and EU agencies in the field of justice and home affairs will be present as well. The SRE will also be the occasion for this year’s Security Innovation Award ceremony to honour exceptionally innovative research outcomes.

In addition, EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner will hold his first implementation dialogue on the challenges to the EU’s security industry competitiveness and to the uptake of security innovation. This dialogue will be an occasion to identify ways to improve, simplify and facilitate implementation of the EU policy agenda when it comes to research and innovation for security.
