Find partners, build a strong proposal, and win Horizon Europe funding

Join Horizon Europe brokerage events – one of the most effective and inspiring ways to build international partnerships and form strong project consortia. These events bring together organisations from across Europe, offering a fast, structured and highly efficient way to connect with potential collaborators, exchange ideas and explore project opportunities. You can also apply for a grant to participate in on‑site events!

Brokerage events create an environment that supports the development of international partnerships for preparing joint project proposals. In a short time and in a single venue, participants can hold a series of bilateral meetings with potential partners, present their ideas, and showcase their research and innovation offer.

Benefit from the support of the National Contact Point

Brokerage events, which often accompany European Commission (EC) information days or other thematic events dedicated to specific areas of Horizon Europe, are organised or co‑organised by the National Contact Point for EU Research Programmes at the NCBR (NCP Poland).

Participation in a brokerage event begins with registration and the preparation of a profile describing competencies, experience and areas of interest, including specific call topics. A carefully completed profile increases visibility and facilitates the establishment of valuable contacts. The NCP supports Polish participants in registering for events, preparing project descriptions and defining their competencies or areas of expertise.

Once the matchmaking platform is open, participants can browse profiles, select potential partners and book short bilateral meetings. An important element of many brokerage events is also the pitching session – short presentations that allow participants to showcase their project idea to a wide audience. This is an effective way to promote an organisation and convince potential partners to collaborate on future research projects.

The NCP experts can provide guidance on how to prepare for such a presentation and regularly organise practical training sessions for pitching. We encourage all interested parties to contact the National Contact Point to learn more and increase their chances of success in Horizon Europe.

Grants for brokerage event participation

Financial support is available for participation in on‑site brokerage events. To this end, the NCP runs a call for applications for funding participation of Polish applicants in in‑person brokerage events dedicated to Horizon Europe Pillar II clusters, EU Missions and European Partnerships under Horizon Europe. Successful applicants who meet the eligibility criteria may receive reimbursement of travel and accommodation costs of up to EUR 1,000.

Applications that include a declaration of participation in a pitching session or a poster session are given priority during the evaluation.

Benefits that genuinely support project preparation

Brokerage events offer an excellent opportunity to learn about current calls, understand research trends and initiate collaborations that can lead to the development of strong project proposals. For many participants, they are the first step in building relationships that later evolve into successful consortia. It is also worth noting that matchmaking platforms remain active after the event, enabling continued conversations, further idea development and serving as a valuable source of contacts.

Participation in brokerage events is an excellent opportunity for anyone planning to apply under Horizon Europe, seeking project partners or looking for inspiration to develop research and innovation projects. This is where collaborations often begin—collaborations that may lead to highly rated proposals and tangible innovation.

We encourage you to take part in brokerage events and to contact the experts of the National Contact Point for EU Research Programmes at the NCBR.
