OBJECTIVES

Within the SSA project "Days of Socio-Economy: Education, Employment, Europe", the conference "Education, Employment, Europe" was held in September 2006. The conference has started the possibility of dissemination of FP5 and FP6 socio-economic project results as well as of exchange knowledge and new projects ideas. The idea to organize the TRIPLE-DOSE follow-up seminar Framework Programmes and European Social Fund for Education and Employment in Europe results from the fact that in the meantime the FP7 has entered into force, giving additional room for discussion about possible (and desirable) influence of research results into policy making. It is therefore reasonable to discuss the link of conference recommendations with the research topics required by FP7 SSH priority and other priority themes. Moreover, there are obstacles in some countries in creating efficient links between the results of socio-economic results and effective policy making. Finally, the opportunities of the European Social Fund merit discussion, with the needs of both spheres in mind.
Additionally, the seminar gives opportunity for the promotion of the proceedings of September 2006 conference.

Thus, the aim of the seminar is to make intensive exchange of ideas between scientists, policy makers and practitioners, experienced in the field of employment and education.

Topics of the seminar:
  • FP7 socio-economic research versus expectations and needs of education and employment sectors (as viewed through conference recommendations)
  • Assistance of research to policy making: good practices and main obstacles
  • Structural funds for education and employment
