Objectives

The main objective of the Conference Launching the 7th Framework Programme (2007-2013) is to officially start FP7 in Poland and to assist the preparation of projects to FP7. During the Conference the basic information about major aims, rules of participation, budget and structure of FP7 will be presented. The Conference will enable entering working relationships of research and industrial teams interested in creating consortia preparing the projects of FP7. Moreover, the conference will provide the strengthening of European cooperation in the area of scientific research, new technologies and innovation, in particular the promotion of Polish technological and research initiatives.

Agenda

The Conference will start with the opening plenary session entitled Research and technological development - a key role for the future of Poland and Europe, during which we expect the presentations of invited guests including state authorities, European Commission and European Parliament guests. During the second plenary session the representatives from European Commission and European Research Council will tender major information about the objectives and structure of FP7 and four main parts of FP7 Cooperation, Ideas, People, Capacities. The third plenary session will be devoted to the creation of the European Research Area with the special consideration of Central and Eastern Europe. The fourth plenary session will relate to financial and legislative problems of FP7, as well as to Polish units support in international programs from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. During the fifth session other particularly important issues concerning Capacities will be introduced. To enumerate some of them: the participation of SMEs in FP7, the creation of research infrastructure and the regions of knowledge.

The separate part of the Conference will be thematic workshops and brokerage meetings during which Polish and foreign participants will present the proposals for specific FP7 projects. Thematic workshops will be realized through the cooperation with international project consortia and will concern the following thematic areas: Health, Food, Agriculture and Biotechnology, Information and Communication Technologies, Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies, Environment (including Climate Change), Transport (including Aeronautics); Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities; Security and Space. Additionally, we expect to organize discussion sessions devoted to Ideas and People as well as to Joint Research Centre.

Exhibition "Polish R&D potential"

During the Launching Conference there will be organized the exhibition of posters presenting the most successful companies and research institutes in previous framework programmes, interested in new projects in FP7. Moreover, there will be the possibility to present achievements in the form of stands.

Crystal Brussels Prize

During the Framework Ball the prestigious awards "Crystal Brussels" will be distributed to the most active and successful participants of the 6th Framework Programme.

Advisory Board

The organization of the Conference will be supported by Advisory Board where representatives of state authorities, research sector and industry will be invited.

Language

The Conference will be held in English. During the first plenary session, English-Polish simultaneous interpreting is foreseen.

Application for participation can be done by filling in the Electronic form available on-line on Conference website.

Conference fee

Conference Delegates Fee - 500 PLN. It is a lump sum for the Conference. All bank provisions should be covered by Conference participants.
The Conference fee covers admission to all conference sessions, Framework Ball, conference exhibition "Polish R&D Potential", delegates pack and meals.

Posters presentations and stands as well as travel and accommodation costs are NOT included in the Conference fee.

Financial sources

The Launching Conference is funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, conference fee and sponsors. Thematic sessions and brokerage events will be supported by European Commission SSA projects realized by NCP Poland.
