Organizator / Organizer: The event is co-organised by the European Commission and the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.
During the event, sector practitioners, including representatives from Digital Innovation Hubs, SMEs, large companies and national governments will have the chance to meet policymakers and discuss on funding instruments and opportunities after 2020.
In her speech given during the presentation of the new College of Commissioners, Ursula von der Leyen, President-Elect of the European Commission, said:
„Digitalisation has a huge impact on the way we live, work and communicate. In some fields, Europe has to catch up — like for business to consumers — while in others we are frontrunners — such as in business to business. We have to make our single market fit for the digital age, we need to make the most of artificial intelligence and big data, we have to improve on cybersecurity and we have to work hard for our technological sovereignty.”
This year’s edition is particularly relevant for Europe’s industrial policy. On the technology side, Artificial Intelligence applications are quickly becoming a core element of many industrial environments, while the upcoming Horizon Europe and Digital Europe programmes will strongly support investments for the development and widespread deployment of digital technologies.
The focus of the 2019 DEI Stakeholder Forum will be on the European policies for Digital Innovation Hubs, Artificial Intelligence and industrial partnerships beyond 2020, including the relevant funding instruments and opportunities.
These topics will inspire the keynotes speeches and panel discussions with high-level speakers from industry, governments and SMEs.
